Provides a stable, transitional living environment to young women who are parenting or
pregnant while they work to graduate or complete their GEDs and find employment,
so they can achieve and sustain self-sufficiency. 


Community Action of Orleans & Genesee, Inc. 

Work Experience/Job Skills $10,000
Assists women in Genesee and Orleans Counties to improve their employment
and self-sufficiency status.


Spiritus Christi Prison Outreach

Helps women discharged from incarceration take the next step toward self-sufficiency. 


Teen Empowerment

Young Women’s Leadership Employment Initiative $10,000
Increases economic self-sufficiency for Rochester young women by employing in
leadership positions that grow their skills, experience, and mentoring relationships while


Unity Hospital of Rochester, Healthy Moms 

Project Independence $5,000
Provides job training and placement for inner city moms with support and skill
building needed to gain employment and begin their journey out of poverty.


Urban League of Rochester 

The Minority and Women Business Development Entrepreneurial Assistance Program $10,000
Promotes the establishment, expansion, and retention of small businesses owned by women and
minorities in Monroe County through classroom training, counseling, and technical assistance. 


Veterans Outreach Center

Female Veterans Self-Sufficiency Project $10,000
Reintegrates women into the community to become self-sufficient via a continuum
of supportive services designed to meet the special needs of female veterans.


Villa of Hope

Work Based Learning (WBL) Program $10,000
Provides youth with vocational education, job coaching and leadership development,
creating a pathway to self-sufficiency for each young woman participant.


Volunteers of America of Western New York, Inc.

Working Wardrobe $6,500
Provides professional attire, job coaching, and interview techniques to low income and/
or previously homeless women to help them obtain employment.


Young Women’s College Prep

Career Exploration Program $2,000
Provides girls with exposure to potential careers, and the opportunity to investigate,
observe, and evaluate specific occupations.
