Help women and girls in our community become economically self sufficient by volunteering for the Women’s Foundation of Genesee Valley.
Grant-Making Committee: Join a group of like-minded volunteers, learn about the various initiatives in our community that align with our mission, and award money to results-oriented programs that truly make a difference in the lives of women and girls.
Girls’ Grant-making Committee: Board members and community volunteers mentor a group of about 30 teenage girls from various high schools in the region to review grant proposals of programs for girls and determine where their money will have the greatest impact. The students not only learn about community issues and philanthropy but also how to build group consensus, collaborate and present the grant awards at the annual luncheon.
Voices of Experience: assist the mentoring program to help girls realize the importance of education and economic security.
A Purse for Change purse auction: raise money for women and girls the fun way with Gucci, Prada, Chanel and more.
Annual Grant Awards Luncheon: coordinate a very special event announcing the Women’s Foundation grant recipients.

Other Ways to Help
We’re happy to provide more information on the needs of women and girls in our community to your group. Ask us to provide a speaker for a program at your social club, professional organization, or religious group meeting. We can present new research on how women and their families fare economically in our seven-county region, and what can help more families to be economically self-sufficient.
